HFX Gifts — Terms of Service

Welcome to HFX Gifts (hfxgifts.com). By browsing or purchasing from our store, you agree to these terms. Please also read our Refund Policy, Shipping Policy, Privacy Policy, and Custom Orders page — they form part of your agreement with us.

About us

HFX Gifts is a Canadian custom gift studio based in Bedford / Halifax, Nova Scotia. We design and make products in-house (including 3D printing and laser engraving). Our online store is hosted by Shopify.

Products, photos & personalization

Product photos and descriptions are meant to be helpful. Handmade and personalized items may vary slightly in colour, texture, or finish from photos (screen settings and materials differ). You are responsible for the accuracy of personalization details you submit (names, spelling, photos, notes). Once production has started, personalized orders are generally final sale as described in our Refund Policy.

Custom orders, deposits & finishes

Catalog custom products (for example size-tier figures) are paid in full at checkout and are multicolour PLA only as described on the product page (hand-paint not included). True one-off or complex custom work that needs a quote requires a 25% deposit of the quoted price before production begins. Hand-paint or premium hand finishes (typically about +$100 CAD) are quote / Custom Orders only and become non-refundable once that finishing work starts. Orders & pricing

Prices are shown in Canadian dollars (CAD) unless otherwise stated. We may refuse or cancel an order (for example, due to pricing errors, fraud concerns, inability to fulfill, or content we cannot legally or safely produce). If we cancel after payment for reasons on our side, we will refund amounts paid for that cancelled order.

Intellectual property & customer uploads

Store content, branding, and our original product designs are owned by HFX Gifts or our licensors. You may not copy or reuse them without permission.

We sell original and IP-clean designs on this website. We do not list “inspired by” fan art or trademarked characters, logos, or brands on hfxgifts.com. If you upload artwork or photos for a custom order, you confirm you have the right to use them and that your request does not infringe someone else’s intellectual property. We may decline any order that appears to use protected IP without clear authorization.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use the store for unlawful purposes, to upload infringing or harmful content, or to attempt to disrupt the site or other customers’ orders.

Shipping & pickup

Shipping rates, timelines, and local HRM pickup options are described in our Shipping Policy. Delivery estimates start after production is complete for made-to-order items. Seasonal rush windows (for example 3–5 business days) apply only where advertised.

Accounts

You may check out as a guest or create an optional customer account. You are responsible for keeping any account credentials secure.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable Canadian law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the store or products. Except where the law does not allow a limit, our total liability for any claim related to an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order.

Some provinces do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law. This does not limit your rights for defective goods or other non-waivable consumer protections.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Nova Scotia and the applicable laws of Canada. Courts of Nova Scotia have non-exclusive jurisdiction, without limiting mandatory consumer protections that may apply where you live.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use of the store after updates means you accept the revised terms for future orders.
