HFX Gifts — Custom Orders

We make custom gifts in our Bedford / Halifax studio — including 3D printing, laser engraving, and personalized finishes. This page explains how custom / made-to-order (MTO) work runs. It works together with our Refund Policy, Shipping Policy, and Terms of Service.
Two ways to order custom
1) Catalog size-tier products (buy on the site)
Choose a listed custom product (for example a figure height band), add your description and photos, and pay in full at checkout. No quotation or deposit loop. Catalog custom figures are multicolour PLA only (up to 4 colours) — not hand-painted.
- Pick the size / product tier and pay at checkout.
- Include pose, colours, and details in the personalization / order notes (and photos by email if needed).
- We produce the piece. Shipping or HRM pickup starts when it is finished.
2) True one-off quotes
If your idea does not fit a catalog product, contact us for a quotation. Those jobs use a 25% deposit of the quoted price before production, with the balance due as stated on the quote.
Your responsibility for details
Spelling, photos, and design notes are locked once production starts. Please proof everything carefully before you pay. We are not responsible for errors in information you approved.
Final sale, changes & cancellations
- Before production starts: you can usually cancel for a refund of amounts paid (catalog full payment or quote deposit — we will confirm).
- After production starts: personalized work is final sale. We cannot edit spelling or design mid-run. If you need something different, place a new order.
- Catalog orders paid in full: change of mind after production starts is not refundable.
- Quoted jobs with a deposit: if you change your mind after production starts and do not complete the order, 100% of the deposit is forfeited. Any unpaid balance is cancelled.
Hand-paint & premium finishes
Machine / multicolour PLA and hand-painted finishes are different paths. Catalog figure listings are multicolour PLA only (up to 4 colours). Hand-paint / premium hand finish (typically about +$100 CAD) is for quoted one-off / complex Custom Orders only and is confirmed on your quote. Once painting or hand finishing has started, that finish fee is non-refundable.
Photos vs finished piece
Reference photos and screen images are guides. Printed and engraved pieces can differ slightly in colour, sheen, scale, and fine detail because of materials and process. That normal variation is not a defect.
Lead times & peak seasons
Timelines appear on the product page or your quote. During Halloween and Christmas peak periods, some jobs may be offered in about 3–5 business days where we advertise that window. Large, complex, multi-colour, or hand-finished work can take longer.
What we will not make
To keep the store clean and lawful, we do not list or produce “inspired by” fan art or trademarked characters, logos, or brands on this website. We also decline orders that appear unsafe, unlawful, or that use someone else’s IP without clear rights. Original and authorized designs only.
Damage or production issues
Contact us within 15 days of delivery with photos and your order number. See the Refund Policy for remake and refund rules.
